You have the opportunity to represent academic professionals as a member of the Academic Professional Advisory Committee to the Chancellor or as an AP representative of the UIC Senate. We invite you to submit a nomination packet for either one of these positions. Each packet includes an explanation of the election process, eligibility requirements and an overview of how your participation can impact the university. Members are elected for staggered three-year terms for both APAC and for the UIC Senate. New members take office at the July meeting. Nominations are sought during the Spring term each year.
APAC is comprised of fifteen to eighteen representatives, elected for staggered three-year terms so that approximately one-third of the membership is elected each year. The committee represents all AP's at UIC. Academic Professionals who are visiting and permanent make up the electorate and are eligible to vote, and to be candidates for election. Interested candidates need to complete the Nomination Petition, including a personal statement and the name and signature of ten endorsers who are academic professionals at UIC. Fully completed petitions must be received by noon on Friday, April 28th, 2017. Please send your completed election packet to Mary Berta, via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. The receipt of your election packet will be confirmed by e-mail. If you do not receive a confirmation, please notify Mary at email@example.com. Election ballots will be available on the APAC website beginning at noon on Monday, May 1, 2017. All ballots must be submitted by noon on Friday, May 12, 2017.
